From a rapid energy transition, climate crisis and micro-chip shortages that threaten to derail entire production chains, Europe is facing unprecedented challenges which require new, innovative, STEM-driven solutions.
This year’s General Assembly of the EU STEM Coalition focuses on the urgency, needs and solutions in STEM education and the labour market. The 1.5 hour virtual programme will feature presentations highlighting:
- The needs and challenges of industry (Françoise Chombar, co-founder and chairwoman of Melexis Semiconductor Solutions)
- Research and policy in STEM (Akvile Motiejunaite-Schulmeister, analyst and co-author of the landmark Eurydice study “Increasing Achievement and Motivation in Mathematics and Science Learning in Schools”)
- Best practices from the United States (James Brown, director of STEM Education Coalition in the US)
- Upcoming actions of the EU (Martin Kern, director of the European Institute for Innovation and Technology)
